About Receipt Generator

The Receipt Generator lets you build a clean, professional sales receipt in seconds. Enter your business name and date, add as many line items as you need with quantity and unit price, set a tax rate, and pick a payment method. It automatically calculates the subtotal, tax, and total, and shows a tidy printable receipt preview as you type.

It is completely free with no sign-up, watermarks, or limits. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you enter is ever sent to a server. When you are ready, hit Print to open your browser's print dialog, where you can print a paper copy or save the receipt as a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is the receipt generator free?
Yes, it is completely free to use with no account, sign-up, subscription, or hidden fees. You can generate and print as many receipts as you want.
Is my data uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and does nothing with your information except display it. Nothing you type โ€” business name, items, prices, or payment method โ€” is ever sent to or saved on a server.
How is the tax and total calculated?
Each line's amount is quantity multiplied by unit price. The subtotal is the sum of all line amounts, the tax is the subtotal multiplied by your tax rate percentage, and the total is the subtotal plus tax. Empty or invalid entries are treated as zero, so you never see errors.
Can I save the receipt as a PDF?
Yes. Click Print to open your browser's print dialog, then choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination instead of a physical printer. The print view shows only the receipt card, not the input fields.
Can I add or remove items?
Yes. Use the 'Add item' button to insert a new line, and the โœ• button to remove any line. Each item has its own name, quantity, and unit price, and the receipt updates instantly as you edit.
What payment methods can I show on the receipt?
You can choose from common options including cash, credit and debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, check, gift card, bank transfer, or other.
