About Wordle
Wordle is a free word-guessing game. A secret 5-letter word is chosen at random, and you have six tries to find it. After each guess, every letter is colored: green if it is in the correct spot, yellow if it is in the word but a different position, and grey if it is not in the word at all.
The game runs entirely in your browser with no sign-up, no ads, and nothing to install. Type with your keyboard or tap the on-screen keys, watch the letter colors update, and hit New Game to start a fresh puzzle any time.

- Is this Wordle game free?
- Yes, it is completely free with no account, sign-up, or download required. Play as many rounds as you like directly in your browser.
- Is my data uploaded or tracked?
- No. The game runs entirely in your browser. The secret word is picked locally and your guesses never leave your device, so nothing is uploaded to any server.
- How do the letter colors work?
- Green means the letter is correct and in the right position, yellow means the letter is in the word but in a different spot, and grey means the letter is not in the word. Duplicate letters are handled correctly, so a repeated letter only lights up as many times as it actually appears in the answer.
- How many guesses do I get?
- You get six guesses to find the hidden 5-letter word. If you use all six without solving it, the game reveals the answer.
- Can I play on my phone?
- Yes. The board is responsive and there is a built-in on-screen keyboard, so you can tap out guesses on a phone or tablet as well as type on a physical keyboard.
- How do I start a new game?
- Click the New Game button at any time to pick a fresh random word and clear the board. After a win or loss you can also use the Play again button in the result banner.
