It creates a true derangement, which means no one is ever matched with themselves, and shows the full set of "Giver → Receiver" pairings so the organizer can hand them out. - How many people do I need?
- You need at least three so the pairings stay a surprise — with only two people, each would obviously be giving to the other. There is no practical upper limit for a normal gift exchange.
- How do I keep the pairings a secret?
- The generated list is for the organizer only. Tell each giver privately who they drew, or hand out folded slips, so no one sees the whole list.
- Can I draw again if I do not like the result?
- Yes. Press "Re-draw names" any time for a fresh random assignment. Each draw is independent and unbiased.
