About Resize Video

Resize Video changes a video's resolution — down to 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p — right in your browser, keeping the original aspect ratio. Upload a file, pick a size, and download a smaller MP4. No sign-up, no watermark, and nothing is uploaded.

It runs an in-browser build of ffmpeg and re-encodes to H.264, so the resized video plays anywhere. A smaller resolution also makes the file smaller, which is handy for email, uploads and messaging.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free to use?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limits.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. It runs an in-browser build of ffmpeg, so your video is processed entirely on your own device and never uploaded.
Does it keep the aspect ratio?
Yes. You choose the height (like 720p) and the width is scaled to match, so the video keeps its original shape without stretching.
Will resizing lose quality?
Making a video smaller is lossy and a lower resolution holds less detail, but the settings keep it looking clean. Resizing to a resolution larger than the original will not add detail that was not there.
Why does the first run take a moment?
The first time, it downloads a ~32 MB processing engine, which is cached afterwards so later runs start instantly.
