- Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
- Yes. Set any starting number you like — for example start at 5 if you have a cover page and front matter that should not count, or continue a sequence from a previous document.
- What does the 'Page X of N' format do?
- It stamps each page with both its own number and the document total, like 'Page 1 of 10'. The count respects your starting number, so if you start at 3 the first page reads 'Page 3 of ...' with the total adjusted to match.
- Does it change the rest of my PDF?
- No. The tool only draws the page numbers on top of your existing pages. The original text, images, and layout are preserved, and you download a new copy so your original file stays untouched.
