About Date Difference
Date Difference works out exactly how many days fall between two dates. Pick a start date and an end date and it instantly counts the calendar days between them, then breaks that same span into full years, months and days and shows the total number of weeks. Whether you want to calculate, count or just quickly figure out the gap between two dates, the answer appears the moment both fields are filled — there is no button to press and no page reload.

- The tool counts every calendar day in the span, including weekends and public holidays, since it simply measures the elapsed days on the calendar. That total is the main number shown, and by default it does not include the final day unless you switch the end-day option on.
- Does it count business or working days instead of calendar days?
- No, it counts all calendar days and does not skip weekends or holidays. If Saturday and Sunday fall inside your range, they are included in the total the same as any other day.

- Does the order of the dates matter?
- No. The tool uses the absolute difference, so it does not matter whether you put the earlier or later date first. It will always show a positive span and note when the dates were entered out of order.
- How is the years, months and days breakdown calculated?
- It counts full calendar years first, then whole months, then the leftover days, accounting for different month lengths and leap years. This gives a calendar-accurate breakdown that matches the total number of days shown.
- How do you calculate the total number of weeks?
- The total weeks are simply the total days divided by seven. The tool shows both the exact decimal value and a whole-weeks-plus-remaining-days view so you can read it whichever way is more useful.
- Can I use it to count the days until a future date?
- Yes. Put today as the start date and the future date as the end, and the total shows how many days are left until that event or deadline. It works the same for past dates, so you can also count how many days have passed since a given date.
