About Morse Code Translator

Convert text to Morse code and decode Morse back into plain text in one place. It auto-detects which way to translate, or you can lock the direction. Letters are separated by spaces and words by a slash, following the standard International (ITU) Morse alphabet for letters, numbers, and common punctuation.

A built-in Play button beeps the code aloud so you can learn the rhythm, where a dash lasts three times as long as a dot. The tool is completely free with no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser — your text is translated on your own device and never uploaded to any server.

Is the Morse code translator free to use?
Yes, it is completely free with no account, sign-up, or download required. You can translate as much text or Morse code as you like, as often as you like.
Is my data uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. All translation happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you type is sent to a server, saved, or shared, so it is safe for private messages.
How do I read the Morse output format?
Each letter's dots and dashes are grouped together, letters are separated by a single space, and words are separated by a slash surrounded by spaces ( / ). For example, 'SOS' becomes '... --- ...'.
Does it translate both text-to-Morse and Morse-to-text?
Yes. Set Direction to Auto-detect and it figures out which way to go based on your input, or choose Text → Morse or Morse → Text to lock the direction. The Swap button flips the result back into the input.
Can I hear the Morse code as sound?
Yes. Once you have a result, press Play Morse to hear it beeped using your browser's audio. A dash sounds three times longer than a dot, with correct gaps between symbols, letters, and words. Press Stop to end playback.
Which characters are supported?
All 26 English letters, the digits 0-9, and common punctuation such as . , ? ! / ( ) & : ; = + - _ " $ and @. Unsupported characters are skipped when encoding, and unrecognized Morse sequences appear as a question mark when decoding.
