About Insert Blank Pages in PDF

This tool inserts empty pages into an existing PDF. Choose where the blank pages go — at the very beginning, at the very end, after every page, or before or after specific page numbers you type in (single pages like 3, or ranges like 5-7). You can add more than one blank page at each spot, and pick whether each blank page matches the size of its neighbouring page or uses a fixed A4, US Letter, or US Legal size in portrait or landscape.

It runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is opened and rebuilt locally — nothing is uploaded to a server, and no account is needed. The tool copies your original pages unchanged and adds truly empty (white, no content) pages at the positions you asked for, then hands you the new PDF as a download. A live counter shows how many pages will be added before you save.

Page numbers you enter always refer to the original PDF, so you can plan insertions without doing your own math. Password-protected PDFs can't be edited here because the pages stay encrypted; remove the password first (open it and re-save, or Print to PDF) and then use the tool.

Frequently asked questions

How do I insert a blank page after a specific page?
Choose "After specific page(s)" and type the page number, for example 3. You can list several (3, 6, 9) or a range (5-7). Blank pages are added immediately after each page you name, using the original page numbering.
Can I add a blank page after every page for double-sided printing?
Yes. Pick "After every page" and set how many blanks per spot. This is a common way to leave a note page facing each page or to force one-sided content when printing duplex.
What size are the blank pages?
By default each blank page matches the size of the page next to it, so it fits mixed-size documents. You can also force a fixed A4, US Letter, or US Legal size in portrait or landscape.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser with pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device, there are no uploads, and no sign-up is required.
Why won't my password-protected PDF work?
Encrypted PDFs can't be edited in the browser because the page contents stay locked. Open the file in a PDF reader with the password, save an unprotected copy (or use Print to PDF), then insert blank pages into that copy.
Will inserting pages change my existing content?
No. Your original pages are copied through unchanged and kept in order; only new empty pages are added at the positions you choose.
