About Circle Crop Image
This tool crops any photo into a perfect circle and saves it as a PNG. Upload an image, then use the zoom and position sliders to frame your subject inside the circle. You can choose the output diameter (128 to 1000 px), keep a transparent background or fill it with a solid color, and add an optional colored border ring around the edge. The live preview shows exactly what you will get before you download.
Everything runs locally in your browser using the HTML canvas. Your image is never uploaded to a server, so it works offline and keeps private photos private. The circle is cut from the center of a square frame; the zoom and position controls let you pan across the source image to line up faces or logos precisely.
The export is always a PNG so the area outside the circle can stay transparent — ideal for profile pictures on Discord, Slack, Zoom, forums and social sites. If you pick a solid background instead, that color fills the corners so the file looks right on any surface. Animated GIFs are flattened to a single still frame.

- Does the circle have a transparent background?
- Yes. By default the area outside the circle is transparent and the file is saved as a PNG, so it drops cleanly onto any background. You can also fill the corners with white, black, or a custom color if you prefer.
- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
- No. All cropping happens on your device with the browser's canvas. Nothing is sent to a server, so your image stays private and the tool even works offline.
- What image formats and sizes can I use?
- Any format your browser can open — JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and more. You can export the circle at 128, 256, 400, 512, 800 or 1000 pixels. Animated GIFs are exported as a single frame.
- Can I add a border ring around the circle?
- Yes. Use the border ring slider to add a colored outline of your chosen thickness and color, which is drawn on top of the cropped image.
- Why is the output a PNG and not a JPG?
- JPG cannot store transparency, so the corners outside the circle would become a solid color. PNG preserves the transparent area, which is what most profile pictures and avatars need.
